Trusted and AccurateThese are very reliable. Last month, I took one test before my period and it was an absolute negative. This month I tested early with cheapie strips and was sure I was “seeing something” at 9 days past ovulation. So to be sure I used the trusty First Response Early Result and within minutes confirmed with a very very faint line within the time frame. I’m an older mom and have much experience with home pregnancy tests, so I knew that although faint, that line means I’m pregnant! I still wanted to see a nice line, so I took another at 10 days past ovulation. The line was much more visible and pink. So that’s it, I trust this brand which has never given me a false result.

Does the job and does the job very well.If it’s positive, it’s positive. If it’s negative, then it’s negative. There’s no in-between. If you get a positive, and then get negatives afterwards, you’re most likely experiencing what is called a chemical pregnancy. It usually lasts 1-3 days and the fertilized egg gets rejected. It’s highly common. FRER’s are the best. I’ve been ttc for over a year. Never let me down. Highly recommend.

Accurate and SensitiveAccurate testing , I would think other months that I was pregnant , took the test and negative . My period would come right on time . This time around I was actully pregnant 7 days after Ovulation I got the faintest line on the older brand but as days went on my lines got darker and gave me more assurance and peace of mind . They are more expensive at Family dollar than they are online.

Faulty, cruelI used these my entire ttc journey(33 cycles). I thought I was having multiple early losses almost every month until this last cycle. I had faint but clearly positive tests 4 days in a row. On day 3 my HCG came back at less than 2, day 4 was just as dark as the other days. I wonder how many other cycles I thought I was having an early loss when really it was just faulty tests. Attaching photos from recent cycle with HCG as well as a few previous cycles

Bad testIt came with an indent line before I can even dip it .

DO NOT BUY THESE!!!!I should have known better then to purchase these tests again. The last few boxes i got were fine! Up until my very last purchase i got a very faint pink line. It was hard to get a photo of but it was definitely there. Due to my past with these instead of g etting excited i called my doctor for a blood test and what do ya know it was completely negative. No hcg! It is so incredibly frustrating trying to conceive with terrible tests like these on the market that get your hopes up at every turn but because they are supposed to be the most sensitive on the market your ALWAYS tempted. And then you get that horrible indent line and end up spending tons of money on tests only to find out it was never positive to begin with. This problem NEEDS TO BE FIXED. If you’re going to advertise as the best then actually BE the best. So tired of being let down by these stupid first response tests.

Heartbreaking false positives – DO NOT BUYI got my first faint positive with these tests at 8dpo. It showed up within a minute and was very light but pink. Second and third faint positives were 9 and 10dpo. Faint lines that were getting slightly darker: pink and showing up within 2 minutes. The photo included with this review (top photo) shows the test from around 6pm on 12dpo. The line was obvious, especially in person, and could be seen in a photo without color manipulation. 10am 13dpo, my Dr sent me for a blood test. No HCG. <1. (bottom photo)

These lines do not look like evap lines or indents, they are pink, and they show up within the time frame given in the directions. Only two of these tests came from the same box. The tests were not expired.

Directly from the First Response website, it says that even a faint positive is a positive (see middle photo).

I'm not sure what is going on with these tests but the company needs to check their quality control. This is not acceptable. I always thought First Response was a company I could trust for accurate results. Not anymore.

Absolutely never againThree months in a row, I’ve been happy with tears thinking I’m pregnant, only to be disappointed because each First Response test have given me false positives. I’ve decided to stop wasting my money and getting my hopes up. For women like me, who are family planning this is extremely heartbreaking every single time.

  9. Megan

Awful tests! Gave me a very false positive/ indent line. Your app even said “pregnant” so I decided to give my specialist a call. My hcg levels at 0, I was not pregnant. FIX YOUR INDENT LINES! They’re way worse on these tests than the original.

  10. Megan

TERRIBLE evap/indent lines. DO NOT BUY.I left a review on another site on these tests back in March for my first pregnancy. FRER succeeded in confirming my pregnancy last time around but this time, every SINGLE
box I have purchased this month (easily 6 now) have given me immediate indentation lines. This is heartbreaking and infuriating for couples who are TTC and haven’t been able to yet.

I will NEVER buy this brand EVERRRR again after using up the last few that I have. I now understand and sympathize with all women who have been using these for years just to get those faint false lines leading them to believe its a positive in the early stages of pregnancy. Shame on FR for not pulling these off the shelves and really looking into it. Not to mention all the women who falsely think they had a chemical pregnancy when they were never actually pregnant to begin with thanks to these God awful indent lines. Stay far away from this brand. You’re better off waiting for your period to come or not to come before wasting money on these. There photos were taken different days, plenty more where that came from but only posting a few.
